We’ve designed Photamate to be easy and intuitive to operate. You don’t need photography or photo editing experience to produce great photo favors. We’ll provide all of the training and support you need to ensure your success through phone and online consultation, video tutorials, and documentation. Don’t worry…it’s not difficult. We also offer optional on-site support in some circumstances. While the minimum requirements will work without issue, remember that photo editing operations can be demanding on system resources. Lower-tier or power-saving CPU’s, such as those found in economy home systems and netbooks, are not the best choice.

Is there a Mac version?

Photamate is a Windows-based product. There is no Mac version at this time, however we’ve had users report successfully running the software using porting solutions like Parallels or Boot Camp. While we encourage you to try, it is not officially supported.

How much does it cost?

Photamate Pro is $995 for a single-computer license. Multi discounts are available.

If I purchase one license now, will I get multi-license discount if I decide to add additional licenses later?

Contact us and we’d be glad to help.

Can I use Photamate on multiple computers?

A single license covers one primary computer. You may install the software on a second backup computer, however you may not use both at the same time.

What is the upgrade policy?

Minor upgrades within the same version are free. Major upgrades are fee-based.

How can I get support?

First, consult the Photamate help file. Most feature or function-related questions can be answered there. Or, email our support department for additional assistance using the support link at the top of the website.

What kind of camera do I need?

Photamate includes direct tethering support for many Canon DSLR cameras (see chart below). Our tethering function is unique in that your images can be manipulated as layers, right on the workspace. However, you don’t need a Canon DSLR. Our import function allows you to use any camera that supports saving images directly to a folder on your PC, and works with our capture interface. This gives you many of the benefits of direct tethering (thumbnail list, auto-import), even if your camera doesn’t support it. You may also use an optional Eye-Fi card for wireless transmission of images, even if your camera doesn’t support saving files to your PC. Our camera capture function gives you the flexibility you need to get your photos into the editing interface very quickly.

The following Canon cameras are supported for native tethering in Photamate. If your camera is not listed, the Canon EOS utility can be easily configured to work with the import folder, as can several utilities available for Nikon models.

EOS-1D Mark III

EOS 40D

EOS-1Ds Mark III

EOS 450D/Rebel XSi

EOS 1000D/Rebel XS

EOS 5D Mark II

EOS 50D

EOS 500D/Rebel T1i

EOS 7D

EOS-1D Mark IV

EOS Rebel T2i

EOS Rebel T3

EOS Rebel T3i

EOS Rebel T4i

EOS Rebel T5

What kind of printer do I need?

Photamate works with any Windows-installed printer.
